“Think about your house. There’s a very small number of people you probably actually want in your house and it’s much easier to say, ‘these people are allowed in and no one else’ versus trying to explicitly block every person that could ever attempt to walk in your front door. That’s how we think about security in the cloud.”
Security is about intent. Consider known good activities: the things you expect to happen. The best security policy allows the known good activities while blocking everything else. So instead of trying to anticipate every possible bad activity that could exist, you’re only allowing the ones you want.
