The 5,000 square foot raised floor facility provides redundant fiber feeds from three Tier 1 carriers. Continental Broadband offers a redundant Cisco powered network, with 24x7x365 on-site monitoring and redundant power sources.
Our facility is located in Glen Allen, Virginia, a technology-driven business center located adjacent to Richmond. It provides an excellent out-of-market solution for disaster planning for businesses in the Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia markets. The facility is accessible to approved personnel only. Our security surveillance system including cameras, biometric hand scans, multi-level card access, lockable cabinets, and on-site personnel assure that you have the highest level of monitoring and security.
Our data center is served by 2 separate utility power feeds, each supplying a large UPS system. And our auto-cutover diesel generator provides 500 kilowatts – with a fuel tank covering more than three days of consumption at maximum load conditions – ensuring complete power redundancy of all network services. The facility includes multiple CRAC systems offering 96 tons of total cooling capacity, an 18 inch raised floor environment, and a pre-action sprinkler system and Halon fire suppression system per State of Virginia ordinance.
