Norfolk, Va. - December 28, 2007 - Continental Broadband, a leading provider of data center and managed data network services for business-class customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions, ends the year with record-breaking increases in revenue and profitability.
Sales activities throughout 2007 netted more than $35 million in new business, clearly establishing the company as the lead provider of local enterprise data center services in a majority of the geographic regions in which it resides including Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Baltimore and Richmond. In addition, it now operates profitable and growing business centers in Boston, Chicago and Hampton Roads, Virginia as a result of steps completed in 2007.
All told, Continental Broadband committed more than $10 million dollars in upgrades and improvements to its data center facilities in 2007 to support a growing need for its services.
"We’re pleased our strategy of acquisitions, build-outs and investments enables us to dramatically expand our service to customers in need of mission critical solutions," said Owen Griffin, CEO at Continental Broadband. "Each one of our markets and operating units has made us proud this year as we look back at the best year we have ever achieved in our company’s history."
Highlights of this banner year for Continental Broadband include:
The acquisition of nFrame, the recognized leading provider of collocation and managed services including business continuity and disaster recovery for local enterprises in the Indianapolis market. Recently, Continental Broadband announced a commitment to expand and upgrade the nFrame facility in a $5 million project scheduled for completion in spring 2008.
The acquisition of Expedient’s data center operation in Boston which provides local customers with collocation, Ethernet Anywhere Internet connectivity and managed services.
The acquisition of Expedient’s data center operations in Cleveland which provides local customers with collocation, Ethernet Anywhere internet connectivity and managed services for hardware and software applications. The operational merger of Chicago-based ANET with Expedient Communications and the renovation and expansion of ANET’s Data Center in The Loop in response to demand for services in downtown Chicago.
"We are finding that as the footprints of our regional networks grow, so too does the confidence our customers have in our strength and in our ability to provide reliable service," said Mr. Griffin. "And, that confidence is an achievement we will protect as we continue to position ourselves as a go-to for any organization that needs all or part of its IT infrastructure on demand."
