Network Engineer

The Network Engineer will contribute to multiple projects in network design, network standardization, transition planning for legacy network and day-to-day operational issues. The successful candidate will use his or her knowledge of standards-based internal and external routing protocols to serve customers in high-availability environment and participate in network design.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provides consultation and technical assistance for the repair and maintenance of the Expedient network and the associated communications hardware.
• Configure, test and implement various customer and network hardware solutions.
• Interface with customers to isolate and resolve technical issues
• Collaborate with the Sales organization to find innovative ways to serve customer needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation as it relates to the current network configuration.
• Work with various suppliers to research and test new products.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience with Cisco Routers, Firewall's, Switches, IPsec, Ethernet, Fiber Optics, OSPF, and BGP.
• Proven customer relationship skills
• Supplier management experience.
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Strong inter-personal and communications skills.
• Ability to work with a team or independently.
• Effective troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
