Developer

Overview

EXPEDIENT delivers innovative IP and telecommunications services, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA. Expedient has an immediate need for a Developer. The individual filling this role will augment the systems development team which has responsibility for all internal and customer-facing applications. The role includes support and enhancement of existing applications as well as development of new applications. These applications are used by Expedient's customers and its employees located in five markets and seven data centers spread across the Midwest and Northeast.

This position is based out of the Pittsburgh office where the new hire will join a team of three other developers. He or she will report to the Development Team Lead

Primary Functions

• Provide technical oversight and administration for all applications
• Field, review, and address day-to-day application issues
• Work as part of a team to design, develop, and implement new solutions
• Make application change recommendations to management based on customer requests and analysis

Qualifications Required:

The candidate for this job must possess the following skills:

• BS, or MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent, demonstrable work experience)
• Minimum two years application development experience required
• Demonstrated development experience with PHP and MySQL
• Strong object-oriented skills
• Demonstrated expertise with JavaScript, CSS, XHTML and Web Standards
• Experience in building responsive and intuitive web UIs with AJAX
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Outstanding troubleshooting/problem solving abilities
• Ability to clearly document implemented solution
