Data Center Sales Engineer

The Data Center Sales Engineer will be an important member of our team and will be responsible for working directly with our sales team to provide technical insight during the data center sale process. This includes the entire presales lifecycle, from initial contact thru successful product evaluation to deal close. As a member of the Systems Engineering team, this position requires extensive work with customers as well as the sales team. Customer contacts are primarily in the IT operations organization of enterprise customers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations for existing and potential customers.

  • Prepare technical proposals and design architectural overviews, within the Expedient product set, for prospective customers.

  • Articulate and conduct in-depth product feature benefit discussions as they relate to the suite of Expedient products.

  • Influence customer's technical requirements, and position products relative to competition.

  • Work closely with the sales team on RFP responses and proposal preparations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical area, or equivalent experience.

  • 3-5 years in Pre-sales, Systems Engineer or Sales Engineer

  • Strong working knowledge of, Storage, Data Center Management, Managed Services,
    firewall's, networking, common server operating environments (Windows, Linux, Solaris, etc ), and other technologies found in our customer environments.

  • Proficient at identifying effective ways to position Expedient as the market leader ahead of its competition.

  • Strategic, analytical and operations-focused, who can recognize market opportunities.

  • Highly ambitious and intuitive self-starter with ability to get things done.

  • Detail oriented with strong interpersonal & presentation skills.

  • Excellent team work skills to quickly establish strong working relationships with customers as well as Company peers.
